We have given the name 'Modified Intelligence' to 'Artificial Intelligence' as artificial intelligence is a misnomer. According to Law of Eternal Changeability (Swami Vivekananda, 1896) and Law of Conservation of Mass and Energy (Albert Einstein, 1905) nothing can be created or destroyed. We just can make alterations/changes. We can only modify the state of a thing already existing in Nature. Artificial meaning man made, synthetic, unnatural, fake. So, we can not create intelligence. We can only manufacture machines which work intelligently. According to Swami Vivekananda: "It (intelligence) is a cosmic thing. Undifferentiated Prakriti (Avyaktam) changes into universal intelligence (Mahat) and that again is changed into universal egoism and charges into universal sensible matter. That matter changes into universal sense organs, again changes into universal fine particles and these in turn combine and become this gross universe. That is the cosmic plan, according to Samkhya Philosophy of Sage Kapil and what is in the cosmos or macrocosm, must be in the individual or microcosm". "There is a sum total of intelligence out of which we draw what we require, so there is sum total of mental force in the universe out of which we are drawing eternally". Thus, it is obvious that we do not create or synthesize intelligence. All we can do is just to modify it. Artificial Intelligence (AI) say Modified Intelligence (MI) as a whole is attempting to make machines capable of mimicking human-like functions. Categorisation of AI (MI) depends on how and the degree to which a particular system can emulate humans. Like in so many other areas of application, Artificial Intelligence (Modified Intelligence) can assist us in teaching as a Co-Teacher. There are all possibilities. But, there are many challenges too which we have to encounter. Israeli Historian and author Yuval Noah Harari has warned us that AI is transforming from a mere tool to an autonomous agent capable of making independent decisions.
