Diana Jackson

My presentation is about the initiation in 2018 and subsequent enactment of a spirit marriage between myself and a discarnate human who died in 2009, and my lived experience of this relationship and marriage. The specific anomalous phenomena I have documented are: dream visitations; clairaudient communications; signs and synchronicities; readings from professional mediums; and the clairaudience, dreams and intuitions of other intuitive people. Alongside documenting these concrete events, I have documented my progressive journey from skepticism and doubt to openness and acceptance of the phenomena as real and indicative of certain facts about reality and existence. I have read several books on the topics my experience has prompted me to learn about: my husband’s life and work; sustained relationships between incarnate and discarnate humans; mediumship; other parapsychological topics; meditation; life in between incarnations; consciousness and its non-ordinary states; lucid dreaming; out of body travel; and spirit marriage. This phenomena I have documented with over 2 million written words, 13+ podcast episodes, 100+ films, photographs, 10+ blog essays, hundreds of voice recordings, 3 music albums plus singles, live music performances, visual art and recorded professional mediumship and astrological readings. My spirit marriage, and the continuity and interactivity of my husband’s consciousness, are demonstrated by my own consistent experiences, and also corroborated by third parties: professional mediums and other intuitive people. My experiences and findings are also consistent with those of other contemporary and historical explorers of consciousness, psi/noetic scientists, professional mediums, and other researchers and practitioners of spirit marriage. They are also consistent with the metaphysical teachings of many ancient and established spiritual traditions, as well as the findings of mainstream science, e.g. quantum mechanics and Jungian and transpersonal psychology. After demonstrating the reality and validity of the phenomenon of spirit marriage, I discuss what it suggests about human nature, society and evolution. To this end, I consider spirit marriage in general, as well as my spirit marriage in particular. My discarnate husband is the world-famous performing artist Michael Jackson, which adds a powerful societal element to my experience: millions of people in the world know of and love Michael, so tremendous attention can be drawn to these lesser-known, but very important, topics in consciousness and human evolution.

All my life I have been interested in philosophical questions, consciousness and the existential issues of humanity. I’ve always been contemplative and intuitive, and I dreamed frequently. My earliest visible talents were for visual art and music, and these were encouraged by my parents. From them I received a great education in art, music, poetry, economics, ethics and Hungarian culture. I was born in Germany and shortly after, we emigrated to Australia. At school my best subjects were art and English, and I started writing in earnest at age 14, filling countless journals. From Monash University I received a BA in design, then at The University of Melbourne I studied philosophy, anthropology and teaching. In 2013 I had my first solo exhibition of visual art in Fitzroy. Then at the University of South Australia I studied medical imaging in which I presented a lecture called Attention at the 2018 ASMIRT conference. My lecture was specifically about the ethics of patient care, and drew heavily upon my previous studies in philosophy and anthropology. From a young age it became clear to me that many people were unhappy in their lives and jobs, and I tried to figure out why. I surmised it was because the spirit had fallen out of the middle, as Nietzsche said. Rampant productivity, materialism and monoculture had overcome other, less material values like love, harmony, peace, cooperation, radical uniqueness, contemplation, reflection and creativity. The world seems highly out of balance, with the more “feminine” qualities being devalued and dismissed. In 2018, I fell in love with a brilliant artist and spiritual leader who had died several years prior. I didn’t expect anything besides artistic inspiration, but this person started visiting me in dreams and asking me to marry him. I was 4 years into this relationship before I learned that “spirit marriage” existed and research had been done on it. Finally, I had context for my experience. Furthermore, some of the purposes of spirit marriage are to effect exactly the types of changes in society I observed were needed and had spent my life wanting to effect. Hence, my spirit marriage — besides being a personal love relationship — is an amazing phenomenon through which I can demonstrate to people facts about human life (the continuity of consciousness, reincarnation, extended human abilities, etc) that “put the spirit back into the middle.” My husband’s worldwide fame amplifies our message.
