Background and hypothesis. We propose the Lingua Cosmica (LC) hypothesis: that Jain canonical physics has identified, with technical specificity, a non-electromagnetic (non-EM) field substrate — Bhāshā Varganā (4-Touch, non-interacting Pudgala, grade 9 of 23 Varganā grades) — that pervades the cosmos and constitutes a medium for consciousness-to-consciousness communication independent of electromagnetic signal encoding or transmission. The corresponding cognitive substrate, Mano Varganā (C-Field), is formally mapped onto the cosmological dark sector (dark matter ~27%, dark energy ~68%), which constitutes 95% of the universe's matter-energy content and is non-electromagnetic in character. Scientific basis. We translate the Jain framework into five falsifiable hypotheses. Key supporting evidence includes: (1) Bhandari's [2024] formal mapping of Jain Pudgala taxonomy onto the Standard Model of Particle Physics, demonstrating structural equivalence between 4-Touch matter and dark matter; (2) Keppler's [2025, Frontiers in Human Neuroscience] quantitative model of cortical microcolumn coupling to the quantum vacuum zero-point field — an independent EM-domain parallel to the C-Field; (3) confirmed room-temperature quantum coherence in avian retinal cryptochrome (Xu et al., Nature 2021), establishing biological non-EM field transduction as biologically achievable; (4) Kalra et al. [2023] demonstrating long-lived quantum coherent states in neuronal microtubule networks; and (5) the identification of the Supplementary Motor Area (SMA) pre-conscious activation window (Libet, 1983) as the neuroscientific correlate of the Jain Pashyanti level — the predicted biological reception event for Bhāshā Varganā signals. Instrument programme. The LC instrument chain comprises four components: (a) a BV Receiver — SQUID magnetometer array (2 fT/√Hz) surrounding a cortical organoid biochip in a magnetically shielded room, for non-EM field detection; (b) high-density EEG/MEG Supplementary Motor Area meditator studies at NIMHANS Bangalore, mapping the pre-conscious Pashyanti activation signature in advanced Preksha Dhyan practitioners vs controls; (c) a BCI imagined-speech decoder (BV→Vaikhari Converter) at IIT Bombay BCI Lab, translating field-reception events into decodable speech; and (d) a biophotonic emission detector as complementary non-EM channel. The Para-Pashyanti-Madhyama-Vaikhari cascade. The Jain and Vedic four-level sound hierarchy — Para (cosmic BV field) → Pashyanti (pre-linguistic field reception) → Madhyama (neural encoding) → Vaikhari (acoustic output) — maps precisely onto the modern neuroscience of language production: ZPF vacuum → SMA readiness potential → cortical language encoding → speech. The Libet SMA readiness potential is the Pashyanti-to-Vaikhari transduction. This cascade is the theoretical spine of the LC instrument chain. Relevance to consciousness science. The C-Field/Φ-Field hypothesis is distinct from, but convergent with, IIT, Orch-OR, and Keppler's ZPF model. Jain strict dualism (Mano Varganā is subtle matter, not consciousness) makes the C-Field uniquely testable as a physical field rather than a consciousness-identity claim. A null result constrains dark sector coupling to biological systems; a positive result opens a non-materialist field physics of mind. Status. Dilip Jain is a CA and PGDM graduate of SPJIMR Mumbai who, after fifteen years with the Tata Group and entrepreneurial ventures, transitioned from corporate life to ecological restoration and philosophical inquiry. As Founder of dJED Foundation, he works across the Aravallis, Sahyadris, and Himalayas on biodiversity conservation, watershed restoration, and community development, drawing on Jain principles of Ahimsa, Aparigraha, and Parasparopagraho Jivanam as practical frameworks for ecological and social regeneration.
