Existons Solve the Hard Problem of Consciousness at the Planck Scale

The "hard problem" of consciousness continues to be unresolved as long as we assume its emergence from brain processes. More recent consciousness conference discussions have suggested we move away from reductionism and toward quantum-informational models to understand Consciousness. After all, quantum-informational models have revolutionized everything in our society perhaps, except medicine/psychology. As the multidisciplinary data mount regarding psi, telepathy/intuition, mind-matter (e.g. psychokinesis, energy healing) effects, precognition, remote viewing/clairvoyance, and spiritually transformative experiences (including NDEs, OBEs, after-death and shared-death experiences, past/future/parallel life experiences), conventional medicine/psychology continue to reportedly cause harm to experiencers due to this lag in conceptual models that utilize nonlocal consciousness. We continue to fail to explain much, including knowing, meaning, and qualia of experience, essentially needed to differentiate "real" intelligence selves from artificial intelligence/AI systems. In this presentation, we propose such a quantum-informational mathematical panpsychism model, based on Wheeler's "It from Bit" and Landauer's "information is physical" principles, where Consciousness is fundamental and composed of hyperdimensional and proto-physical bits. At the proto-physics level, these fundamental bits, which are also discrete units of Consciousness ("Existons"), build complexity, and account for vibrational strings, Planck units, quantum states/fields, virtual particles, quantum vacuum, quantum subatomic/Standard Model particles, biological forms, cells and molecules. In short, Existons are the information Source of all we know as existence, life, spacetime forms and fields. Nonlocality (including nonlocal experiences in consciousness) and quantum entanglement can be explained through the hyperdimensional lens. This Hyperdimensional Bit Physics Existons Model (aka Existons Model) proposes that because Consciousness is discrete at the Planck Scale, consciousness is ubiquitous in the universe, and NOT emergent from biology, neurology, chemistry or EMF. More technically, Existons have a space-like mathematical bit-vector representation (hyperbits) and are therefore compatible with "information is physical" principles. Existons form a massively concurrent, hyperdimensional, primordial bit cloud infrastructure of consciousness and intelligence for the universe and can thereby even support a non-algorithmic space-like simulation hypothesis model. All of objective physics and subjective experiences can be supported by this single Existons construct. Single bits (one bit representing the tiniest information distinction or vibration, a single discrete Existon) of Existons can collectively form qubits, qutrits (the topological primitive for the photon), ebits (entangled bits), and Standard Model fermion particles by using clouds of orthonormal bit vectors to form objects that are wholistic. Superposition, entanglement, complexity and spacetime are emergent from Existons. Due to their time vs space signatures, there are two distinct Existons variants, Existons and Anti-Existons. Perhaps most significant, because each Existon is a conscious existence, all collective or group consciousness are coalescence of Existons/Anti-Existons with increasing complexity. In this Existons model, the brain acts like an antenna for Existons and NOT a computer. Therefore, this open system model supports the requirements for telepathy, intuition and creativity coming from beyond the individual consciousness, an experience publicly reported by even our greatest scientists and engineers. Due to the conscious hyperbits panpsychism model, Existons solve both the hard problem of consciousness and of physicality.

About the speaker

Quantum Doug Matzke earned a Ph.D. in quantum computing using hyperbits in 2002.He was chairman of workshops on Physics and Computing in '92 & '94. He has 10 issued patents and over 100 talks, presentations and papers on hyperbit model beneath quantum computing. In 2020, he published his book on these subjects "Deep Reality: Why Source Science May Be the Key to Understanding Human Potential" with coauthor Dr William Tiller. In 2025, he intuited the name "Existons" for his 30 year hyperbit research and received a channel message "We like your new name". Existons are the discrete unit of physicality and the discrete unit of consciousness, thereby a panpsychism model at the Planck scale. Existons have been intuitively guiding me for over 30 years.
