Curist Mind provides a philosophical lens to forge a path to sustainable and meaningful living, via a re-vision of nature as emerging from a relational theory of minds and matter. It provides an integrated metaphysics of healing. Synthesizing dynamic scientific theories and psychoanalytic (and psycho-dynamic) perspective with ancient wisdom traditions, mindfulness and flow-state practices within the healing arts to mimic and accentuate the fluid, first principles of relational re-structuring that constitute cosmic creativity. It frames our perspective, our Curist consciousness, in powerful ways that help us see, understand and incorporate the reiterative, energetic patterns that inform reality through complexity and the sacred movement of Spirit (eros-imbued energy) in our world, as we co-create myriads of internal and external experiences shaping our reality. Curist consciousness grows through Spirit-activism - a recognition of the creative act of living through love by which we establish sacred bonds with people and places. Agape, understood as a deep sense of caring, uniting us at all levels, increases our ability to shift onto a sustainable trajectory that incorporates synergy into our lived experiences. As transformative beings, we establish relationships that help us grow into the best version of ourselves in a world where we lead with love. We know caring relationships help reduce violence and injustice in our communities. Relational re-vision of dynamic, creative reality also grounds nature as inherently essential to our holistic health and development. Curist consciousness centers purpose for mental and emotional well-being, movement for physical wellness, and belonging (BrenĂ© Brown) for social and environmental justice. Synergistic connections highlight our co-creative, sacred stance that collectively has the power to heal at every level, by honoring our relationship with a vibrant world and the belief that all individuals and living beings have the right to a healthy life; including expansive, self-sustaining systems such as our oceans and terrestrial ecosystems. Curist Mind reveals the cosmic dance, the flow of Spirit, highlighting new evolutionary ground as we expand our cosmic consciousness. Foundational paradoxes that wisdom traditions such as Taoism teach through poetic language -often the only form of language that appropriately captures rich nuances (Iain McGilchrist) – are best held in tension through relational participation and the imaginal (John Vervaeke) that upend dualism. The Platonic ideals of formal spaces paired with dynamic flow shape our participation with reality. Art and various traditions throughout history and across cultures instinctively tap into this realm. Now we can experimentally reveal these inherent forces (see the work of Michael Levin). Gifted with an intuitive connection with Beauty and Goodness that generates sacred energy within and around us, we often commune with these ideals in intimate settings with people or nature. Our internal focus swells up intuition that can align our purpose in life. Moving our communities to focus on holistic wellness and individual development guides sustainable and intentional living helping resolve a multiplicity of crises that pose immense harm to our world. Curist consciousness proves to be an essential missing link to understanding our role in creating meaning, happiness and sustainable pathways.

About the speaker

I am a metaphysician; a cross-cultural, multidisciplinary scholar. Also a mother, a cancer survivor, a Spirit activist. Prior to becoming a librarian, I began crafting a metaphysical framework centered on quantum field theory. I began my academic career at the University of Florida as a double major in history and philosophy of science and minored in foreign languages, receiving several honors and awards: Presidential High Honors; Golden Key National Honors Society; German Achievement Award; Ronald E. McNair Program Scholar; Presidential Outstanding Senior Award; Two-Year Scholar Award. Afterwards, I taught in the Dominican Republic for a gap year before beginning my graduate career at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I was awarded a full scholarship as a PhD History candidate but instead completed a master's degree in a self-designed, multi-disciplinary program - Theory of the Self. I focused on foundational physics and consciousness studies, learned Arabic and was inducted into the International Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa. I moved back to Florida to be with my father in his last year. Then completed a second degree in the Philosophy, Science and Religion program at Boston University, with an additional neuroscience certificate from the Boston Theological Institute. Upon graduating, I moved to North Carolina to marry and later completed my third degree in library information science (MLS graduating cum laude in 2010). I refined my ideas on relational dynamics from 2017-2022 as a Resource Writer for Ketamine Health Centers. In collaboration with Mis Emociones, I co-authored a Spanish children’s book incorporating relational wellbeing. Curist Mind then developed into a (TOE) metaphysics for personal and societal transformation.

Dr. Cruz employs a holistic approach to psychiatry incorporating excellent client centered care within a bio-psycho-social-spiritual model and the use of novel treatment modalities to improve the quality of life and overall health of his patients. He was a co-founder of Ketamine Health Centers, a pioneering alternative mental health clinic that opened in 2016 in Florida. Psychoanalytic theory, consciousness studies and philosophy of mind inform his approach to mental wellbeing and holistic wellness.
