Nitya Prema
A poster presentation of how nature is leading the world forward. My primary background is as a Jungian therapist and organizational consultant with individuals, I am sensitive to subtle energies, unseen connections and see change occurring from the bottom up. This art work depicts webbing from the galaxy into earth, electromagnetic waves as fields interacting in matter from the cosmos into the soils of the earth. Humans and animals are influenced electromagnetically, keeping body and mind, integrated, healthy and stimulated, especially through the ancient vagal nerve. In the plant world it is the mycelial network providing both nourishment and protection. As for groups and societies morphogenetic influence is similar to what Carl Jung referred to as the collective unconscious, Rupert Sheldrake describes these fields as morphic resonance, where archetypal patterns and memories in space and time exist and are evoked. In my understanding of morphic resonance and quantum entanglement theory particles and ions within cells are actively influencing the field, alike ions bond and forever act the same no matter the distance. Occurrences are both external and internal, especially found in mystics writings throughout history often express shifts in consciousness, personal and societal. Currently we are living in a world of global improvisation. A book by Steven Nachmanovich called Free Play articulates how patterns express physically, demonstrating the consciousness of participants interacting which becomes group expression, sometimes leading to “entrainment” where most all participants are in sync. When brain waves correspond, thinking and attitudes become similar...we are witness to a planetary shift now and can see occurrences of group mind from the past. Out of mass rallies with messages of domination and superiority people begin to think even act the same. With group embodiment, protests become a group mind, often of us and them. Both consciousnesses are actively polarized yet in a dimensional universe there is something more underneath to be seen. Today, by opening to understanding, the evolving by the more-than-human world, rather than through a control perspective we can sense and stretch beyond our intellect and conflicting intentions. The invisible realm emerges and guides. This poster, is an effort to show how everything is webbed, connected and reciprocal, the information in the invisible realm opens. In the words of Monica Gagliano in her book Thus Spoke the Plant says “Vision is an art, and nature is an old master painter teaching us how to see the underlying reality of things to be—before they actually are. Unleash the mind to see across invisible territories; then an amazing vision will bring the as – yet – unmanifest world into being.”
Nitya Prema, MA, a licensed psychotherapist in private practice of 40 plus years, with a Jungian perspective and a background in psychiatric nursing. She has traveled internationally, and worked counseling with the military in the US, Japan and Europe.
Nitya has been a member and has given presentations for Jungian Society of Scholarly Studies, Jungian Society of International Studies and other venues. Making presentations her focus has been on human consciousness, most recent:”Vignettes of the Numinous”, “Chaos, Beauty and Transcendence”.
During the 1980’s as a craft artist, she created kaleidoscopes and jeweled magic wands, became a gallery owner and manufacturer with an international market. While working towards a doctorate in organizational development, then after completing her course work, she chose to follow a creative path due to a sense of a calling.
At the age of twenty-six, in the 1960’s Nitya had a significant spiritual change of consciousness, became a practicing yogi for several years, later began a lifelong quest to play a part of expanding and human consciousness of the role of myth and concern for the environment. In the winter of 1993 she moved into a tent on forested land, then started making pilgrimages, initially across the country to a kaleidoscope conference with a 32 ft painted cloth rainbow labyrinth and created a “Scepter of Myth” for the journey. She gathered painted mandalas onto the labyrinth from groups that walked it, as “Seeds of Re-enchantment for the Earth”.
In recent years Nitya became a Certified International Forest Bathing Guide and CA Naturalist while living in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in CA. She also enjoys water coloring, writing poetry and eight grandchildren.
