Human Consciousness and HVDC Control Systems: A Conceptual Multidisciplinary Framework for Understanding the Observer Effect

This paper presents a multidisciplinary framework that can explore analogies between High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) control system and theoretical models of human consciousness, related to observer effect. The principles from HVDC control system electrical engineering, neuroscience and special theories of consciousness. This study investigates that the hierarchical control, feedback regulation, synchronization, and information processing in HVDC control system can provide engineering analogies for understanding biological control mechanisms inside the brain. The proposed concepts examine conceptual similarities between HVDC control system and neural network within the human brain, including the hypothalamic-pituitary-pineal glands as a neural information processing unit. This paper has discussed how there is analogy between HVDC control system & the neuronal microtubules based Orchestrated Objective Reduction (Orch-OR) theory in terms of conscious processing. The concepts from HVDC control systems engineering such as Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) regulation, state-space modeling, oscillatory behaviour, feedback control, system optimization, Fourier analysis, and a system based conceptual mapping is developed. Also, the HVDC control system and brain’s biological system analogy with respect to information integration, stability, adaptive control, and observer related functions are discussed. These analogies provide a multidisciplinary framework for investigating similarities in the organization and regulation of complex dynamics in HVDC and brain’s biological systems rather than considering the direct physical equivalence. This work can provide another dimension to understand human consciousness by integration of the aspects from HVDC control system from electrical engineering, neuroscience, artificial intelligence and consciousness studies. This paper aims to stimulate interdisciplinary research work and it encourages further computational simulation, mathematical modeling, and experimental investigation by taking into account HVDC system control theory and information processing in the human brain which can advances the scientific understanding of consciousness and the observer effect.
