Imported Consciousness Theory: A Testable Quantum-Biological Framework for Consciousness Beyond Brain Generation

The origin of consciousness remains one of the most fundamental unresolved questions in neuroscience and philosophy. Current theories generally assume that consciousness emerges from neural computation within the brain. Imported Consciousness Theory (ICT) proposes an alternative hypothesis: consciousness is not generated by the brain but is continuously imported from a fundamental universal information field through quantum-biological interactions. In this framework, the brain functions primarily as a receiver, decoder, and integrator of consciousness, while biological structures including DNA, neural microtubules, and biophotonic signaling pathways participate in the coupling between the organism and the external information field. ICT synthesizes concepts from quantum biology, neuroscience, and information theory to generate experimentally testable predictions. The theory proposes that conscious states should correlate with measurable patterns of EEG coherence, ultra-weak biophoton emission, and DNA-related electromagnetic dynamics. These predictions can be investigated using multimodal experimental approaches combining high-density EEG, photomultiplier-based biophoton detection, magnetoencephalography, and advanced signal-correlation analyses. Unlike purely philosophical models, ICT emphasizes falsifiability by defining observable biomarkers and experimental protocols capable of supporting or refuting its central claims. If validated, the theory would provide a new framework for understanding consciousness, cognitive integration, altered states of awareness, and the relationship between biological systems and fundamental information fields. This presentation outlines the theoretical foundations of ICT, its scientific predictions, and a roadmap for empirical investigation through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Shaban Aslam is an independent consciousness researcher, founder of the Quantum Consciousness & Scientific Research Institute (QCSRI), Pakistan, and the originator of the Imported Consciousness Theory (ICT), a testable framework proposing that consciousness is fundamentally received rather than generated by the brain. His work focuses on the intersection of neuroscience, quantum biology, and information theory, with an emphasis on developing experimentally testable models of consciousness. He has published research on consciousness and quantum biology, including peer-reviewed work and preprints, and actively collaborates with researchers and institutions to advance empirical studies of ICT. Shaban has presented his research internationally through conference submissions and scientific publications and continues to promote interdisciplinary dialogue on the science of consciousness.
