This paper explores consciousness as a foundational dimension of reality through an interdisciplinary framework integrating Vedantic epistemology, phenomenology, and contemporary organizational studies. While dominant scientific and managerial paradigms frequently approach consciousness as an emergent property of neural and cognitive processes, Indian philosophical traditions offer an alternative ontological and epistemological perspective in which consciousness is primary and constitutive of human experience and ethical action. Drawing upon classical Indian epistemology, Sri Aurobindo’s integral psychology, the Bhagavad Gita, and contemplative traditions, the paper develops an integrative framework connecting consciousness, leadership, and human flourishing. The discussion examines how concepts such as self-awareness, transcendence of ego, disciplined cognition, and higher states of consciousness contribute to ethical agency, collective harmony, and organizational transformation. The paper further integrates empirical and conceptual research on purpose-driven work, virtue-based management practices, collective pride, and Enlightened Citizenship Behaviour (ECB), demonstrating how expanded states of consciousness shape engagement, resilience, inclusivity, and flourishing within organizations. Empirical insights from Indian organizational contexts suggest that leaders operating from higher consciousness orientations foster cultures of trust, ethical responsibility, and collective well-being. By bridging Indian epistemology, contemplative inquiry, phenomenology, and applied organizational research, the paper contributes to interdisciplinary dialogues on consciousness studies and human development. It argues that organizations may be understood not merely as economic systems but as evolving fields of consciousness in which leadership functions as a catalyst for ethical evolution, collective flourishing, and integral transformation.
